OUR PLAN FOR MAGALIA COMMUNITY PARK
Future Additions to the Park
Building on the success of our disc golf course, we will soon be installing a “mini disc” course close to the community center, giving younger players a chance to take up the sport. Future additions that have been discussed include a community garden, a bike pump track, tree replanting, and further improvements to the existing paved trail. The park will be developed in phases as funds are available, so it will evolve as the neighborhood rebuilds and as residents provide input on what amenities they would like included.
Park Maintenance
While the majority of the 40 acres will be allowed to continue to go “back to nature” as it already has, we will maintain the property to comply with fire-safe practices. In order to conserve water, irrigation will be limited to just a few acres of developed space.
Safety
Park/course hours are dawn to dusk. No camping or vehicles are permitted on the course. Community Center hours will vary and staff & volunteers will be on site. We work closely with the Butte County Sherriff’s Office to ensure additional patrols as needed.
